How You Can Easily Speed Up Your PC

How to speed up my computer? If this is a question you often ask yourself while working on your computer, then its time that you do something about it. Given here are a few simple ways that you can use to speed up your slow PC.

  • Clean, repair and compress your registry. The registry is used on a Windows computer to store configuration information that is required by software and hardware to function. This information is continually, added, removed and modified in the registry as required. Quite often, some unwanted data makes its way into the registry and causes the registry to bloat up to a very large size. A large registry easily gets damaged and fragmented, resulting in registry errors and system slowdown problems. Registry cleaners are quite useful tools that help you tackle registry problems efficiently. These tools automate the registry clean up process and help you easily ensure a clean registry. What’s more, you can use registry cleaners to defrag your registry. This helps in making the registry compact and contiguous, which helps in speeding up data access speed, and in turn, helps speed up your computer.
  • Get rid of spyware. Spyware are malicious programs that usually install on your computer without your consent and then track your PC and Web activities. These software programs are also known to gather your personal and confidential data and transmit it to external sources. Most of the time, this data is used to send unwanted popup ads to your computer. Some spyware such as mirar are added to your Internet Explorer toolbar. These spyware programs are known to change your Internet Explorer homepage, redirect you to affiliate Web sites, and also slow down your browsing speed. So, as these malicious programs are nothing but trouble for you, let us discuss the steps on how to remove mirar and other spyware completely from your computer.

    • First, use your antispyware tool to perform a thorough full system scan and weed out all spyware data from it. Before scanning ensure that you update the tool with the latest definitions. It is also a good idea to run the scan in Safe mode to make it more effective.
    • Spyware programs, at times, add embedded registry entries which are practically non-removable. To get rid of these, you may follow up your antispyware scan with a registry clean up. To do this, you must use a good and efficient registry cleaner tool.
  • Add more memory. With new, high-end, graphic intensive software being introduced daily, you may soon need to upgrade the memory of your system. To see how much memory you currently have, right-click on the My Computer icon and then check how much RAM you have on the General tab. In case, you have less RAM than what is required to run your software, you may have to add more memory to your computer. However, while doing so, remember to insert memory chips that are compatible with your motherboard and also with the other chips on your computer. If you are using the Windows Vista operating system and if you cannot add any more memory chips to your computer then you may use the Windows Vista ReadyBoost feature. This feature enables you to use non-volatile flash memory—such as USB flash drive or a memory card—as system memory and boost the performance of your computer.
